Hi hoomans, its me, Snickerdoodle your Chief Wellness Officer, expert nap-taker, and very strategic biscuit manager.
Today’s lesson comes from one of my greatest leadership case studies: 𝗵𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗶𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗺𝘆 𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀.
You see, when I’m given a biscuit, I don’t just eat it. That would be
short-term thinking. Instead, I immediately scan the environment. Couch? Too obvious. Dog bed? Rookie move. Backyard? Risky. Nature has no confidentiality agreement.
So, I pause. I sniff. I assess. And then I find 𝘢 𝘸𝘢𝘺.
Sometimes it’s behind the pillow no one ever lifts. Sometimes it’s tucked into a blanket just deep enough to be forgotten. And sometimes, when all eyes are on me, I pretend I’ve already eaten it. (Advanced tactics.)
Here’s what this has taught me and what I see play out for you hoomans every day at work and in life:
• 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗮 𝘄𝗮𝘆. 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆.
• 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗲.
• 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰.
Leadership isn’t about rushing to consume every opportunity the moment it shows up. Sometimes it’s about knowing when to pause, protect what matters, and wait for the right moment. The best leaders don’t just react, they 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘻𝘦.
And when things feel stuck? When the obvious options aren’t working? That’s usually your cue to stop digging harder and start thinking smarter.
From my biscuit-hiding expertise, I can confidently say:
• Look beyond the obvious.
• Trust your instincts.
• Don’t underestimate small, thoughtful moves.
• And remember, just because others don’t see the way forward doesn’t mean it isn’t there
So the next time you feel blocked, overwhelmed, or watched a little too closely… take a breath, channel your inner Snickerdoodle, and remind yourself: 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗮 𝘄𝗮𝘆. Even if it’s behind the couch cushion.
May your problems be solvable, your biscuits be safe, and your creativity lead the way,
𝗦𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗹𝗲
