Hi hooman friends,
It’s me, Snickerdoodle, your Chief Wellness Officer, professional napper, and full-time big thinker.
This week, I’ve been doing some serious work.
And by “serious work,” I mean lying on my cozy office couch, staring out the window, imagining myself chasing butterflies, solving world problems, and maybe, just maybe, getting an extra treat later.
My hooman calls it 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴, but I call it 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴.
Here’s the thing: when we let our minds wander, we aren’t slacking off.
We’re 𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀, and 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 for what comes next. Even dogs need that mental stretch before we leap into action.
Daydreaming is where ideas show up before we’re ready to catch them.
It’s where confidence whispers, “It could work…” before our brain says, “Let’s make it happen.”
Sometimes the best work you’ll ever do happens when you look like you’re doing nothing at all.
So today, give yourself permission to drift a little. Stare out a window. Doodle in a notebook. Imagine a bold, brilliant version of whatever you’re about to do next.
Because daydreaming isn’t distraction. 𝗜𝘁𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗴𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁.
Now if you’ll excuse me…
I have some more “preparing” to do. (I think a squirrel just winked at me.)
Stay curious, stay cozy, keep dreaming,
